Austin History Center in Austin, Texas, founded in 1955, features Austin Public Library’s local history collection and the city’s historical archive. These include thousands of artifacts, documents, maps, and photos. The building housing it was inaugurated as Austin Public Library in 1933. It has been part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1993.
There are several fun things to do in the area, such as visiting Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial. Created by Ralph Helmick in 1993 and installed a year later, it is a bronze sculpture of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Its shadow features Vaughan playing the guitar.
