Uludag, Kestel: The Great Mountain
Uludag is a national park and winter sports resort in the southern part of Marmara, Turkey. Uludag is the highest mountain of northwestern Turkey. Locals say the area is divided into two sides: one side is the part where untouched nature resides with lush green trees, forests, hills, and rocks; the other side is the area where the resort is situated, where people love to do winter sports in. After opening in the 1940s, Uludag remains to be the first and most popular winter sports resort in the entire country. Its name means "Great Mountain" for its grandness. The nearest possible airport is Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
Best Time to Visit
In Uludag, winter is colder but summer stay cool as well, unlike other nearby towns since Uludag is situated on a mountain. April to October is a great time to visit for snow sports with stable snow cover and fine weather. Visiting during the months of December to March means uncomfortable, below freezing temperature.

Tourists and visitors come to Uludag for winter sports. The Uludag Ski Resort is a must when in the mountain, same with Uludag National Park. There are nearby hotels that are best to stay in for convenient access to these attractions, Monte Baia Uludag and Kaya Uludag-All Inclusive. For other places to visit when in and near Uludag, the Adnan Menderes Meydani Square is a good spot to spend the afternoon in.
