Guildford Town Centre
Guildford Town Centre is the largest mall south of Fraser River and the third-largest in British Columbia. Located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, it is owned and operated by the Quebec-based real estate company Ivanhoé Cambridge and has over 250 stores, services, and restaurants. It attempted to set the Guiness World Record for world’s largest carrot cake in celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2016.
For visitors who are looking to relax after their trip to the shopping centre or who want to stay a little longer in Surrey, a selection of economical yet elegant hotels are clustered within the mall’s vicinity. The Sandman Suites Surrey-Guildford’s restaurant, bar lounge, and sleek rooms are all just a 15-minute walk from the mall. The four-star Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel sits closer to the entertainment and business districts of the city, and is complete with spa amenities, a breakfast buffet, and a shuttle bus service. Tourists can also try a variety of fun-filled activities in Surrey’s neighboring cities. In the city of Richmond, which is a nearly half-hour drive from Surrey, they can feast on an amazing selection of street food, purchase exclusive merchandise, and enjoy games at the Richmond Night Market, the largest Night Market in North America that has also become an international attraction. In the morning, they can drive another half-hour up to nearby Vancouver to go skiing, snowboarding, or tobogganing at Mount Seymour, located in the Mount Seymour Provincial Park, which also features terrain parks for freestyle activities.
